First, let's understand what exactly Hoodoo, Conjure is: Hoodoo, Rootwork, is an old and powerful system of North American folk magic. Its roots come from primarily the West and Central African spiritual traditions. It was developed during the slave trade. Its purpose at that time was to help ease the terrible oppression experienced by the slaves. It was birthed out of desperation, blood, sweat, and tears. You should be respectful and mindful when practicing this system of magic. I encourage you to explore the history, culture, principles, and ethics of Conjure. I have been a Root Worker, Conjure Woman in practice for nearly 9 years now. I work with and honor African Orisha Spirits in my personal practice.
